Gabriel Cho is the founder of the Law Offices of Gabriel Cho, based in San Jose, California. He was born in South Korea, and raised in Pismo Beach, California. Attorney Cho received his Bachelor’s Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, and Juris Doctorate with Honors from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Attorney Cho was hired as a research attorney for the Criminal Division of the Santa Clara County Superior Court. As a research attorney, he performed extensive research in all areas of criminal law. He worked closely with Superior Court Judges, and wrote bench briefs with thorough analysis of the issues and ultimately issued recommendations as to their decisions. Attorney Cho was also selected to work full time with Judge Thomas Hastings on the high-profile capital trial of People v. Cary Stayner to assist with pre-trial motions and legal issues that arose in the guilt, sanity, and penalty phases of trial. Through working closely with Superior Court Judges, he not only gained invaluable research and writing skills, but also a great deal of insight into the operation of our justice system and exposure to criminal proceedings from every aspect of a case.
Then, after working for private law firms specializing in family and immigration law for several years, Attorney Cho opened his own firm, primarily focusing on vigorously protecting the rights of his clients charged with a crime both in State and Federal Courts through his extensive knowledge of the criminal defense system. Since its inception, he has defended clients from all walks of life, facing charges ranging from serious felonies like assault with a dangerous weapon to misdemeanor charges such as shoplifting, and everything in between. Attorney Cho will not delegate his responsibilities to other attorneys. He will manage all criminal cases from start to finish in all phases of the criminal process himself. You will work with Attorney Cho, personally.
After several years, Attorney Cho expanded his practice to include family and immigration law, where he uses his strong writing and oral advocacy skills to persuasively communicate his clients’ interests, whether it is moving to terminate removal proceedings or fighting against deportation or representing a parent to resolve serious family law matters involving divorce, child custody, or child support disputes.
